Introduction Michael Fisher
Veröffentlicht am: 04.11.21Hello friends! My name is Michael Fisher, and I am an English teaching assistant at Heinrich-Heine-Schule here in Heikendorf. I grew up in the small town of Auburn, Alabama but have come here by way of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Tuscaloosa is where I went to university, focusing on International Relations alongside German language and Literature. I was never exposed to new languages as a child, so learning German has been difficult yet quite fulfilling! Aside from school, I enjoy playing guitar, training in Thai boxing/Mixed Martial Arts, and even skateboarding.
Since my first experience with the German language, I was hooked. In Tuscaloosa there is a large Mercedes manufacturing facility that brings many German speakers along with it. This gave me a small taste of German culture, but it does not compare to being here in Germany. I have been introduced to new foods, wonderful people, and new hobbies which have furthered my interest in visiting the rest of the country (and Europe as a whole).
I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be in Germany through the Fulbright program and am looking forward to meeting many more amazing individuals here in Schleswig-Holstein!
Thank you all for the warm welcome!
